Select the required actuator features – the configurator immediately shows the matching model with a link to its datasheet, including the correct series for the installation zone.
Depending on the selected zone, the configurator switches both the recommended model and the datasheet link: ExMax (Zones 1, 2, 21, 22), RedMax (Zones 2, 22 – more cost-effective), InMax (non-hazardous areas). If no RedMax exists for the given variant, ExMax is shown – it is also suitable for Zone 2/22.
What the suffixes and codes in the ExMax designation mean
Size series according to the required torque: S = 5–30 Nm, M = 24–150 Nm. Physically and dimensionally, these are two different design series.
The number in the designation = available torque values in Nm, adjustable directly on the actuator without tools (e.g. “5.10” = 5 or 10 Nm). For variants -F1/-SF1/-BF1 and -F3/-SF3/-BF3, the number indicates the motor torque; the spring torque is lower (ExMax-8-F1: ~6 Nm, ExMax-15-F1: ~12 Nm, ExMax-30-F3: ~24 Nm, ExMax-50-F3: ~40 Nm).
Fail-safe spring return to the safe position on power failure. Speed depending on type: ~1 s (F1/SF1/BF1) · ~3 s (F3/SF3/BF3) · S series (F/SF/YF/BF): ~3 or ~10 s, selectable · -CYF: ~10 s · M series (F/SF/YF/BF): ~20 s.
2 integrated auxiliary switches for position feedback (switching at 5° and 85°).
Modulating control (0–10 V or 4–20 mA) with position feedback.
4–20 mA input (24 V only), intended for use with the ExReg/InReg controller (VAV control). -CYF additionally with fail-safe spring (~10 s).
