Schischek GmbH was founded in 1975 as a German manufacturer focused exclusively on electrical components for potentially explosive atmospheres. From the outset it has specialised in the HVAC sector – heating, ventilation and air conditioning – while its products are also used in industry, energy and offshore.
Schischek’s key strength is its in-depth expertise in Ex and ATEX standards. The Ex series products are certified for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 (gas and dust), the Red series for Zones 2 and 22. ATEX and IECEx certification is provided by notified bodies (EPS, PTB), and the products are designed for maximum reliability even in the harshest conditions.
In 2013, Schischek GmbH became part of the global Rotork plc group. Since 2016 the German company has traded as Rotork GmbH – the product range, however, continues under the proven Schischek brand that customers know and trust.
Rotork plc is a British group with a history of almost seventy years. Its roots go back to the 1940s, when Jeremy Fry transformed a small engineering workshop in Bristol. In 1957 the company moved to Bath, Somerset, where its global headquarters is located today.
The group employs approximately 3,500 people and supplies customers in more than 170 countries. It covers the full spectrum of industrial applications – from oil and gas through power generation to water and chemicals.
By acquiring Schischek in January 2013 for EUR 41 million (approx. GBP 34 million), the group strengthened its position in the market for components for potentially explosive atmospheres in HVAC and industrial applications in continental Europe.
