ExSens.

Passive temperature, humidity and pressure sensor probes for mounting directly in the hazardous area. No electronics of their own – the signal is evaluated via an ExLine module (in a control cabinet in the safe area) or an ExBin-A switching module (mounted directly in the Ex zone).

Key features

  • Fully passive probe – no electronics, no power supply of its own in the Ex zone

The probe signal is evaluated via an ExLine module in the safe area (analogue and switching types) or via an ExBin-A mounted directly in the Ex zone (switching types) – the probe itself has no Ex marking of its own, as it is “simple apparatus”.

ExSens comprises 23 probe types according to the measured variable and mounting method. Analogue types require an ExLine module, switching types an ExLine or ExBin-A module.

What the model designation means

TF... / FF...

Analogue (resistance) temperature probe (TF) or humidity probe (FF) – requires an ExLine module.

TB... / FB...

Switching thermostat (TB) or hygrostat (FB) with potential-free contact – ExLine module or ExBin-A.

DBK / LGW / WFBK / SWBT

Switching pressure and flow probes (differential pressure, air/liquid flow).

2G / 2G3D

Certification class: 2G = Zones 1/2 (gases), 2G3D = also Zone 22 (dust).

-U

Setting knob inside the housing instead of outside – protection against accidental/unauthorised changes to the setting.

-FF

Remote (capillary) sensor – version with a remote sensor instead of a direct immersion sensor.

-VA
